Gulikers knap 5e op NK halve marathon

NIJMEGEN – Na 2 jaar afwezigheid van het Nederlands kampioenschap halve marathon werd Nijmegen het decor tijdens de 6e Alfa Laval Stevensloop. Het parcours is uitdagend door de hoogteverschillen van de grote bruggen, die de Waal oversteken, de openstukken buiten Nijmegen en de wegen dwars door de stad. Namens TDR stonden 2 vrouwen aan de start, marathonloopster Eva van Zoonen en Jennifer Gulikers.
Van Zoonen is momenteel in voorbereiding voor de Rotterdam Marathon. Trainingsmaatje Gulikers mag af en toe al eens even proeven van de lange trainingen. Deze trainingen werken erg goed voor haar en de Limburgse begon al te denken aan tijden tussen de 1uur 15’ en 1uur 16’. Vlak na de start liet Gulikers het beoogde tempo varen en werd ‘op gevoel lopen’ de leidraad. Het eerste vrouwen groepje werd haar windschild tegen de forse windstoten die aanhielden op de Waalbrug en de Spoorbrug. “Vanaf 14km werd het zwaarder, maar ik probeerde taakgericht te blijven denken. Aanhaken bij groepjes, mensen inhalen, dat soort dingen. Met nog 2km te gaan, zag ik dat de vrouw voor me (Anne Luijten) het zwaar kreeg. Ik besloot alles op alles te zetten om haar in te halen. Helaas lukte dat niet meer. Desalniettemin ben ik tevreden met een pr van exact 4 minuten”
Gulikers komt als 5e van Nederland over de streep in een schitterende tijd van 1uur 14’20”. Een aantal minuten later finisht Van Zoonen in een keurige tijd van 1uur18’47”, maar zal pas echt van zich laten spreken wanneer het zo ver is, 10 april in Rotterdam!
